A new face
We are pleased to announce that we have recently secured the services of Adam Woolley, who will help out with Pro Shop duties, coaching and fitting here at Lincoln GC.
Adam brings a wealth of playing and coaching experience and will be a great asset to us here in the Pro Shop. Here is a short round-up of Adam's golf career so far and what he will bring to us: |
Hi, I am Adam Woolley, a fully qualified PGA Professional. I have played golf for most of my life where I first started when I was 7 years old. My life pretty much has revolved around sport especially Golf. It is my passion and I enjoy learning about the game every day I go to work, whether it is working in the proshop, coaching and playing.
I turned professional back in 2015 following two years on a golf scholarship in America. My experience overseas was incredible. I met some great friends on the team but also coaches and mentors where I still use techniques and philosophies I learnt from them not only for my own game but within my coaching as well.
The first year of my professional career I played events on the Europro Tour, Alps Tour and mini-tour events across the UK. This was a great learning experience playing with some great players along the way again making new friendships and learning more and more about the game.

My first professional pay cheque came at Lindrick golf club where I finished 3rd against a top-class field. I followed this with numerous good finishes through 2015 but never kicked on how I would have hoped for in terms of progressing to the next level.
In 2016 I began my PGA training at the University of Birmingham being attached at The Nottinghamshire Golf and Country Club. This was a fantastic learning experience as an assistant professional. I worked in the shop, began my coaching profile and played many tournaments within the four and a half years I was there. In the first year, I built up four different junior classes and two adult classes along with expanding my individual client base.
Furthermore, within my first year, I was able to get my first individual Professional win at Worksop golf club pro-am, one that I will always remember. I followed this with many good results and a few more wins along the way.

By the end of the four and a half years, I believe I learnt many good attributes of what it takes to be a good coach and all-round professional golfer.
I had made many great friendships with people that had come to see me for lessons not only did many of them improve significantly with their game but we were able to build good relationships, where many of them I play golf with regularly in pro-ams but socially as well. I believe this a key when someone chooses to have lessons with me not only to improve their game but to have a good relationship between one another so they can get the best out of themselves and their golf game.

I am now happy to be a part of the team at Lincoln Golf Club and work for David in the proshop. The move is one I am really excited about; the place is so friendly with great facilities along with a fantastic course.
It is a golf club I am proud to be attached to for bettering my future in my professional golf career. My role at the club will be to help within the professional shop, provide a coaching service and play regularly in competitions around the country.
I am looking forward to meeting all the members so do not hesitate to introduce yourselves to me so I can build up good relations with many of you as well.

Golf's back on UK soil
When Sergio Garcia won The Masters in 2017, every headline was along the lines of ‘Finally!’. More than three years later, his win at the PGA Tour’s Sanderson Farms Championship marks his first win since and prompted many similar headlines. Although, did you know both victories involved Sergio putting with his eyes shut at impact? On the European Tour, Tommy Fleetwood looked to cap the return of the big names at the Scottish Open, a Rolex Series event, with a victory. But fellow Englishman Aaron Rai upset the odds to beat Fleetwood in a playoff that saw Tommy miss from a couple of feet at the first playoff hole. Both storylines demonstrate the importance of putting well when the pressure's on. So, if you struggle with holing out or three-putt too many times due to poor distance control, send us a message below and we'll be happy to help.
