We're saying goodbye to John Chapman as he starts his new career in the Army.

His Goodbye Golf Day is being held on Friday, 25 October.

Save the date - 01/11/20

2019 has been quite the year for golf and 2020 promises to be no different as we welcome the new World Handicap System (WHS) to the UK.

How will it impact you?

The nuts and bolts say that the best eight scores from your previous 20 rounds will form the basis of your handicap, whilst your scores from the previous 12 months will play a role to prevent wild fluctuations in handicap.

Interestingly, abnormal course and weather conditions will also be taken into account after each round.

It all sounds a little complicated but we'll keep you updated with the latest information and what it means for you as we draw closer to its introduction in November 2020.

Titleist Fitting Day

We're excited to be hosting a Titleist Fitting Day on Thursday, 24 October.

This is your chance to try out and have fun testing out the whole range that Titleist have to offer.

A specialist club fitter for the day will be provided to supply you with the perfect shaft, head and grips in order for you to have the best experience.

Are you part of the 70%?

The popularity of Distance Measuring Devices (DMDs) has been growing for several years as golfers seek as much help as possible whilst out on the course. Our recent survey indicated that over 70% of you choose to use one, so we thought we'd highlight one of our favourites in this week's newsletter.

Garmin Approach S40 watch

GPS devices are not just about reading front, middle and back yardages. Well, in some cases they are, but not when it comes to Garmin’s Approach S40 watch.

As we know, the course can be played several different ways and the Approach S40 displays distances to hazards and doglegs at a glance, which will prove vital when trying to take your course management to the next level.

In fact, at this time of the year when a wet course is a regular occurrence, knowing your yardages has never been more important. This is where the S40 comes into its own as it allows you to alter the pin's position on your watch so you can get highly accurate distances.

A new ball from Titleist

It's not uncommon for brands to launch their products as the greatest thing since sliced bread, however, if you like to play a ball that has an ultra-soft feel and doesn't shirk its responsibilities off the tee or around the green, then the brand new TruFeel could well make a justified claim to that title.

Who says you can't have everything all at once?

We were pleasantly surprised when we gave the new TruFeel a try. It not only replaces the popular DT TruSoft in Titleist's range, but we think it's a considerable upgrade too.

We'll leave it to you to make your mind up when you give this ball a try, but it certainly combines an incredibly soft feel with impressive distance.
