The Lincolnshire PGA Pro Am

The Lincolnshire PGA Pro Am was a great success with with the sun beating down and 100 competitors taking part and a fabulous half way house raising £157 for Lincoln Golf Club juniors.

Many thanks to all the helpers and staff for making the day run smoothly.

Captains Drive In

We had a great day on Sunday for the Captains Drive In welcoming our 2019 club captains. We wish them great success this year and im sure it will be a fantastic year.

In the competition results were as follows...

1st - Phil Mason & Chris Hardy - 37 Points.
2nd - Kevin Hardy & Steph Day - 34 Points.
3rd - Peter Stern & Stella Goldstein - 34 Points.

Titleist Thursdays

Our Titleist Thursday's are off to a flyer with last week's seeing loads of members come down and try the latest equipment from Titleist. This is a great chance not only to just have a go with the new equipment but to pit it against yours too and see how much extra distance or accuracy you are losing.

Make sure you keep an eye out for our upcoming fitting days, I will provide you with quick and easy ways in order for you to apply or request a slot so we can get everyone fitted for the right equipment!

Running on empty?

If your electric trolley is struggling to make it round 18 holes then it might be time you upgraded its battery. There's been a huge push towards Lithium batteries in recent years as they last longer, charge quicker and are more lightweight than previous Lead Acid equivalents. So, if it's time you change your electric trolley battery, bring your old one in-store and enjoy £25 OFF a brand-new Lithium one.

Rules news

Sergio gets some lip...

If you ever needed a lesson in not jumping the gun and sticking to the rules, Sergio Garcia showed us all what not to do over the weekend.

Playing against Matt Kuchar in the quarter-final of the WGC Match Play Championship, the Spaniard's makeable putt to win the 7th hole finished inches wide of the mark.

But rather than waiting for Kuchar to concede the putt, Garcia took matters into his own hands and it didn't end well. Watch this video to see what happened.

If at first you don’t succeed…

12-months ago, American Kevin Kisner woke up on the Monday after the WGC Match Play Championship nursing the disappointment of a thumping 7&6 final round loss to Bubba Watson.

However, this Monday, the mood in the Kisner camp was quite different after the 35-year-old overcame fellow American Matt Kuchar 3&2 to win his first WGC title and stake a major claim for a Ryder Cup berth ahead of next year's contest at Whistling Straits.

Victories over Tony Finau, Keith Mitchell, Ian Poulter (in a playoff), Haotong Li, Louis Oosthuizen and Francesco Molinari proved Kisner has the ability to go toe-to-toe with the world's elite - maybe he should have been at Le Golf National last year? The wonders of hindsight.

A world-first at the Jordan Mixed Open...

This week sees the start of a revolutionary new tournament, where 40 players from each of the Ladies European Tour, Challenge Tour and StaySure Tour (over 50s) will compete against each other for one trophy and the same prize fund.

The likes of Carly Booth, Jarmo Sandelin and Phillip Price will tee it up over three rounds in a tournament that is sure to snatch the headlines. Keep an eye on next week's newsletter for our report.
